Cold Days
I hate cold days like this. There is nothing to do what so ever. So what I do on a day like this, is take a nap. Naps are the best. They help me forget about all the stress from school and help me relax. They are the best when the weather is very cold outside. What I do is when I come back from school I am tired. I do not want to start my homework, so I go to my bed, lay down, and fall asleep. Nothing compares to this. i forget about all the test, quizzes, projects, assignments that I was given. I fall asleep for maybe an hour or more, but the down side is I wake up around seven or eight o'clock. But, naps do have their benefits. They give me the rest and energy that I lost when waking up for school in the morning. One thing I do not understand, is that whenever I wake up from them, I am grouchy and not in the mood for anyone. I do not know why. All in all, naps are the best during these cold days.

It's only weird if it doesn't work
I did something strange during the Steelers vs Lions game. At first Pittsburgh was up fourteen to zero, but then the Lions started to rally back. I am a little bit of a die hard fan, so I jump out of my seat, yell, and do all kinds of strange things. However, there is a commercial that Sam and I always talk about. It shows a Broncos fan coming out of the basement and thinking to himself that every time he goes down there, they score. He also believes that he has "cracked the code". The end of the commercial says that it is only weird if it does not work. So what I did when we were down twenty-three to twenty is I went to my dad's room. I closed the door maybe two-thirds of the way and turned the lights off while looking at the living room. I would ask my younger brother what would happen during the game. When doing this, we scored a touchdown. I also did it several more times and the Steelers scored a two-point conversion, converted a fourth down and two, and also intercepted the ball. This may seem strange, but always remember, It is only weird if it does not work!
What I would fight for
If I would fight for anything, it would be my family. My family has been through a lot with me. We have been through the hard and tough situations, and we have been through the easy and fun ones. My family is always there for me no matter what the case may be. One key factor leading to this is our communication. That is probably the most important thing that helps us get through things. We communicate a lot, such as over a meal. My parents are very serious about my schooling to. Every day after school, they question us to whether or not we have homework. They always make sure we do it and always want us to study for a test or quiz coming up. At times it is a little irritating, but I eventually will find out that it will hopefully pay off in the future. I do not know what I would do without them.

If I could go anywhere
If I could go anywhere, I would go to a professional football game. I love football and I have always wanted to go to a game. It would be a great experience. I would want to go to a Steelers vs Browns game. There is just such a great rivalry there that I think going to one of those games would be really fun. But, I would not want some cheap seats that are really high up. I would want to sit right behind the end zone. So, that means I would be closeer to the players and touchdowns during the game. I would probably go with a group of friends to the game, but all in all, I do not know what event or place would be better for me than that. Hopefully, I can go to a game in the near future. That would be the best experience of my life!

Why technology is Important
Technology is an important part of my life. Technology helps with many things through my daily life. It helps with communication and school. I do not believe it would be convincing an adult why technology is important. It makes tasks quicker, easier, and more efficient. Lots of adults use technology in this day and age. Without technology, we would be far less advanced then we are today. Lets look at cars for example. Today, new cars have sensors and a camera inside the car to show what's behind the driver. This is because of our advancement in technology. Things have become safer. Another example I use are laptops. Laptops have become faster and more useful then before thanks to all the new advancements that were made. I use this example to refer to students, such as myself. Technology might very well be the answer to many of our everyday problems that we experience.

If Money Were No Object
If money were no object were no object I would play professional sports. Honestly, I do not know what sport I would play because I love both football and basketball. I might not look like one that likes or plays sports, but I really do. Sports get my mind off things to. One might ask," in what way would you help or influence society". The NBA ad NFL have special programs that do this. The NBA has a program called " NBA Cares" who's mission tries to address the important issues of things such as education and youth. The NFL has "Play 60" which is designed to try to make the next generation of youth fit and healthy. Players from both leagues also visit hospitals and donate to charities, which I would also do as a player. Hopefully my actions would strongly contribute to society and would help.

Hobby
My favorite hobby of all is to play sports. I do not know exactly why I like to play sports, it is just I think they are really fun and I love the game. My favorite sports are football and basketball. If I had to choose, I would pick football over basketball even though they are both great games. I play basketball a lot more than football because a lot of the time we do not have enough people to play football. Also, my brother likes basketball more than football. I am not amazing at any of them, but I am decent. Most people would probably say that i do not look like a sports person, but I really am. I really like to watch sports on TV too. I never really played on a team and frankly, I do not know why. In conclusion, I do not really have any other hobbies besides sports and I do not know what I would do instead if it were not sports.

Change one thing
If I could change one thing in my life what would it be? I would change how much TV I watched and video games i played as a kid. Thanks to that, I now have glasses. I am not saying that glasses are the worst thing in the world, but it is not the best. When I do something like play basketball and I get hit by mistake, my glasses might fall off. Honestly, I do not think that not having them would have a huge effect in others around me. I think that the only difference it would have would be people would judge me differently if they did not know me. What I mean is that with glasses, people think that I am smart and do not like to do anything, but read and study. However, I do not how they would judge me if I did not have glasses. It would not really be a big deal, or have a major effect on my life.

Who I Value
One person that I really value is my older brother. He is always there for me and never lets me down. Do not think that I am saying that we never argue and that we are always getting along. I can not tell you that because then I would be lying. As brothers, we have our up and we have our downs. No one is perfect. My brother always gives me advice on things and situations that he has gone through. He is really helpful with school to. He always helps me out with homework and studying. Since he is a year older, he has had some of the same work that I have, so it is an advantage. I try to be like him when he is setting a good example. So basically, he has some influence on me. In conclusion, he is very important to me and I do not know where I would be without him.

Best Summer Experience
What was my summer like? Was my summer fun filled with things to do? No it actually was not. Most of my summer was either spent inside, or playing basketball. Although this may not sound very fun, the best time of summer came at the end of it. I went to Cedar Point and had a lot of fun. It was my first time going there since I was about eight years old. There were a lot more people there than I expected. Basically, I was really excited to go. Some of the lines were really long too! The craziest ride I rode was the Power Tower because the ride went so high up and you did not know when it was going to drop. When it did drop, it was crazy because it came down so fast. The ride I went on that had the longest line, was the Corckscrew. It was not the greatest ride, but it was okay. Thunder Canyon was a really good ride to because people would get wet during it. Overall, because of that fun and exciting trip, I had an okay summer.

My Name
My name is Abdul. Who was I named after? What language does it come from? Do I like my name? Is my name common around here? No it is not, at least not here. Abdul is a very common name in Arab countries in the Middle East. To show how common my name is, I would say it is like once in a blue moon that you will hear it here.I like to believe that my name is unique I haven't met many other people that have Abdul as their first name. Do I like it? I like my name because it is actually not very common. I hardly have ever had someone in the same class, or school with the same first name. What language does it come from? Abdul comes from the Arabic language. Who was I named after? I was named after my uncle. Is my name common around here? No it is not, at least not here. Abdul is a very common name in Arab countries in the Middle East. To show how common my name is, I would say it is like once in a blue moon that you will hear it here. What does Abdul really even mean? In the English language, Abdul translates to servant. However, the name does not have any specific history in my family. It was my great grand father's, then my uncle's, and now mines. In conclusion, I appreciate my name and am glad it is mine.

My Number One Rule
Everyone has his/her own individual rules which are followed in their daily lives. My number one rule is to always have the confidence to achieve anything Confidence is one key needed to be successful. Helen Keller once said, "Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence." What this quote is saying is that confidence is a requirement to achieve success. If someone were to have something such as an exam, or important interview coming up, but had no confidence, it would not go as planned. For example, if that person had a great deal of material prepared for that interview, or have studied a lot for that exam, but do not have that optimism, they would really struggle. I myself sometimes over prepare and stress out for important things. When that time comes, I struggle because I keep thinking to myself that I will not do well. No one should ever put themselves down and say to themselves, "I can not do it no matter what" because anyone can and we just need that one important key, confidence.
